Australian Spirit Animals - Koala
The Koala Bear is peaceful, meditative, slow moving creature with a grand view of life from the trees. Australia developed some highly unique creatures on the large isolated continent. The Koala is a marsupial tree dweller that is the only one of its only kind, though the wombat is a close relative. The Koala is a small solid bear-like animal with no tail and fluffy ears, around 80cms tall. They range in colour from grey to chocolate brown, depending on where they live. Koalas live in eucalyptus bushlands and rainforest areas, their main diet are eucalyptus leaves. Koalas sleep up to 20 hours a day. The females carry their young (joeys) in a pouch and on their back or front as they get older. They become independent at one year. The male adults make loud growling noises trying to scare off rivals and attract a mate. Koalas live between 15 to 18 years.
